Our Approach
At ClearMind Psychological Services, we provide thoughtful, individualized care for children, teens, and their families. Whether through comprehensive psychological testing or ongoing psychotherapy, our goal is to foster insight, growth, and long-term emotional well-being.
Psychological Testing Approach
All psychological testing is conducted by Dr. Melony Cohen, a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly a decade of experience in psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic evaluations. Dr. Cohen specializes in assessing learning differences, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental or emotional concerns.
Each evaluation is carefully tailored to the child’s unique profile, using a combination of standardized tools, clinical observation, and caregiver input to gain a comprehensive understanding of strengths and challenges. Dr. Cohen emphasizes collaboration and clarity throughout the process—from the initial intake to the feedback session and final report.
Her reports are known for being clear, practical, and easy to understand. They include individualized recommendations and, when appropriate, address academic accommodations, testing supports, and IEP/504 planning. Dr. Cohen works closely with families to ensure they feel informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for their child across home and school settings.
Therapy Approach
Psychotherapy at ClearMind is rooted in warmth, trust, and evidence-based care. Both Dr. Cohen and Alexa Winer, AMFT, offer therapy services, each bringing their own clinical perspective while sharing a deep commitment to relational, attuned treatment.
We work with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents to foster insight, emotional resilience, and more connected relationships. Our approach is individualized, drawing from psychodynamic, relational, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and attachment-based frameworks.
Sessions are tailored to meet each client where they are—whether the focus is anxiety, stress, identity development, parenting challenges, or life transitions. Across all modalities, our shared goal is to support growth with compassion, clarity, and respect for each individual’s unique story.
We believe that supporting one generation can have a ripple effect on the next. Our work is grounded in the belief that healing emotional patterns, building insight, and developing tools for self-regulation can create meaningful, lasting change for individuals and families alike.
