Our Approach

At ClearMind Psychological Services, we provide thoughtful, individualized care for children, teens, and their families.

Psychological Testing Approach

Psychological Testing is conducted exclusively by Dr. Melony Cohen, a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly a decade of experience in psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic evaluations. Dr. Cohen specializes in assessing learning differences, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental or emotional concerns. She tailors each evaluation to the unique needs of the child, using a range of standardized tools and clinical observation to gain a comprehensive picture of the child’s strengths and challenges.

Dr. Cohen places a strong emphasis on writing clear, actionable reports that guide parents, schools, and other professionals in understanding how to best support the child. Reports include individualized recommendations and may address academic or standardized testing accommodations when appropriate. Dr. Cohen works collaboratively with families throughout the process to ensure they feel informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for their child’s success.

Psychotherapy Approach

Psychotherapy at ClearMind is rooted in warmth, trust, and evidence-based care. Both Dr. Cohen and Alexa Winer, AMFT, offer therapy services and bring unique yet complementary approaches to treatment. Whether working with children, adolescents, young adults, or parents, we focus on building insight, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships.

We draw from psychodynamic, relational, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques, tailoring each session to the individual. Our shared goal is to help clients move through stress, anxiety, identity development, and life transitions with greater confidence, clarity, and self-compassion.

Our goal is to provide the support and tools needed to overcome intergenerational trauma and stress, promoting mindfulness, self-fulfillment, and healing that can positively impact future generations.
